Team
Gas Gang Group of Companies was founded by Hawaii resident and Fort Worth native Matthew Brown, bringing decades of experience in renewable energy back to his roots in Houston’s oil and gas industry. That history shapes the firm’s perspective across conventional and renewable energy, with a practical focus on the infrastructure required to deliver reliable power and support long-term economic activity.
Today, under the executive leadership of Tristen York, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, a team based largely in Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and Southern California supports that vision through a collaborative approach to investment evaluation, transaction structuring, project development and asset oversight. Our work brings together the financial, commercial and operational considerations that determine whether an opportunity can become a successful, enduring investment. Rooted in Texas, we value industry knowledge, direct communication and the relationships built by working closely with the people who develop, operate and depend on essential energy assets.
Our team works alongside operating partners, technical specialists and professional advisers to pursue opportunities across natural gas, power generation and related infrastructure. We approach each investment with an emphasis on asset quality, counterparty strength, contractual revenues and the practical requirements of execution. From assessing a project’s initial feasibility and arranging its capital structure to supporting development and overseeing performance, our approach emphasizes thoughtful underwriting and active engagement throughout the investment lifecycle. We believe lasting value requires both a clear investment thesis and sustained attention to the details that follow a transaction. That belief informs our culture: entrepreneurial in identifying opportunities, disciplined in evaluating risk and accountable to the partners and investors who place their trust in us.
